Customer required a Hand-held based Electricity Billing solution with tight integration with their SAP back-end system. A customised distributed workflow has been developed to ensure compliance with Chattisgarh Power board requirements. Inspite of the fully automated integration between Hand-held device and server-side solution, each division will have control on data being provided to each meter reader under the division’s purview with common bill-generation time stamp for all customers belonging to an area.
The solution involved development and deployment of complete CSPDCL’s LT billing logic in the Hand-held devices.
Application middleware enables a single device to be used by multiple meter readers during different periods of the same billing month. The innovative solution enables improved use of the Handheld-devices in the field.
Customer Information is downloaded from SAP each month and pushed to devices under the supervision of Divisions. Similarly bills generated in the field are automatically pushed to an intermediate Middleware server from where the transactions get sent to SAP.
Facility for remote management of devices has been provided for easier administration. Several reports have been provided as part of the solution.
Security features include automated device authentication based on device hardware id.
