Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited is responsible for making available reliable and quality power to the central districts of Andhra Pradesh. APCPDCL has decided to upgrade its current spot billing machines for generation of bills and receipts. The new spot billing solution is to be fully integrated with the Board's central servers to facilitate monitoring and viewing of all revenue collection information online. Callippus built a turnkey solution for APCPDCL including Spot Billing for LT & HT consumers, Collection and Server side solution for day-to-day reporting/MIS. The billing engine runs right within the device with capability to generate bills due for the last several years. A single solution can be used for billing LT & HT consumers as well as for Payment Collections. Current devices do not have this capability. | |
Transactions carried out on the POS/Hand-held terminal are sent to the server transparently using GSM/GPRS technology. If for some reason, network is not available for a brief period, transactions are queued for delivery. Device continuously attempts to recover GPRS connection and deliver transactions as soon as GPRS connectivity is restored and the queue is cleared promptly. Device is capable of auto-update. This ensures any updates to the application are automatically loaded into the device without user intervention. Software upgradation/maintenance can be carried out remotely. Devices can be controlled remotely for any administrative, maintenance or security needs. The solution is seamlessly integrated with APCPDCL's internal ERP solution. The embedded device software was developed using C/C++ language and Server side solution was built on Java technology. |
